Professor Eli Somekh


Prof. Somekh is a Professor of Pediatrics, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. Currently, he is the Chairman of Pediatrics, Mayenei Haeshuah Medical Center, Bnei Brak, Prof. Somekh is Member of Council and of Scientific Advisory Board, European Pediatric Association (EPA/UNEPSA)

He is a member, Advisory Committee for Immunizations and Infectious Diseases, Ministry of Health, Israel.

Former Positions included: Chairman of Israeli Association of Pediatrics (2012-2016),
Chairman, Israeli Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (2006-2010) and Chairman of Pediatric, Wolfson Medical Center, Holon, Israel
Medical Education: Prof. Somekh is a Graduate of Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He had his fellowship in Pediatric infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital, University of Colorado, Denver, Colorado and a fellowship in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology - National Jewish Hospital, Denver, Colorado

His clinical expertises are in pediatric infectious diseases and immunology.

His main research activities are in vaccine preventable diseases, vaccines, epidemiology, and public health issues.

Prof. Somekh authored more than 150 publications including peer review scientific publications, review articles, and book Chapters.
